ADHD Therapy for Kids and Teens

Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation and Medication Management

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can affect a child’s ability to focus, stay organized, manage impulses, and regulate emotions. Children and teens with ADHD often struggle with attention, executive functioning, time management, school performance, and daily responsibilities despite being intelligent and highly capable.

My Approach

As a provider specializing in ADHD treatment for children and adolescents, I offer comprehensive ADHD evaluations and personalized medication management for families throughout Long Island and New York. Evaluations consider developmental history, academic performance, behavioral patterns, and the possibility of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, or learning differences.

Treatment plans are individualized and may include medication management, parent education, school collaboration, and practical strategies to improve functioning at home and in the classroom. My goal is to help children and teens build on their strengths, improve self-confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

With the right support, children and adolescents with ADHD can achieve success in school, relationships, and everyday life.

How do I know if my child has ADHD?

Many children are active or occasionally have trouble paying attention. ADHD is diagnosed when symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity are persistent, occur in more than one setting (such as home and school), and significantly affect daily functioning. A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation can help determine whether ADHD or another condition may be contributing to your child’s challenges.

Does every child with ADHD need medication?

No. Treatment is individualized and depends on your child’s age, symptoms, level of impairment, and family preferences. Some children benefit from behavioral strategies, school accommodations, and therapy, while others may also benefit from medication. Together, we’ll discuss the most appropriate treatment plan for your child.

Will medication change my child’s personality?

This is one of the most common concerns parents have. When the right medication and dose are chosen, the goal is not to change your child’s personality—it is to help them better focus, regulate emotions, and participate more successfully at home, school, and with peers. If a medication doesn’t seem like the right fit, we’ll work together to adjust the treatment plan.
